Keri and Phillip Porter
Keri started dancing at the age of 11 years old at the Margaret O'Connor Studio of Dance. She started competing with Phillip Porter in 1993 and went on to win several titles in New Zealand. They moved to London in 2000 to study dancing and compete further internationally. They represented New Zealand at the Amateur World Ballroom Championship and at the World Games in 2005. They moved back to Wellington end of 2010 as they had started to have a family. They turned professional in 2012 and have been teaching in Wellington since then. Keri is the National Secretary for NZFATD, medal test examiner and organises the NZFATD Nationals held at Kings Birthday weekend every year.
Phillip started dancing at the age of 13. He comes from a family of dancers with his father being brought out to Sydney to be the head teacher in a dance studio. Phillip has enjoyed a strong competition career, which ended once they started a family. He works full time in IT and teaches in the evenings and weekends.
